Here at Tuskegee University, we want each of our students to enjoy a balanced collegiate experience, which means, preparing them to excel both in and outside the classroom. In addition to a strong scientific background, CAENS students receive the tools and resources necessary to cultivate professional networks, leadership skills, social skills and lifelong friendships.
The mission of the Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program is to provide comprehensive research-based educational programs designed for life-long learning to assist limited resource families, both urban and rural and other groups and organizations, to improve their quality of life in a technological global society.
The focus of outreach and educational services consists of six program areas as follows: (1) Alabama Youth Entrepreneurial Initiative and Workforce Development, (2) Small Scale Farming and Global Food Security, (3) Enhancing Citizens’ Capacity to Transform Communities, (4) Integrated Natural Resources, Sustainable Energy, and Climate Change, (5) Nutrition, Fitness and Childhood Obesity, and (6) Healthy Lifestyles, Prevention, and Food Safety.
