This program provides two options, an on-campus thesis option and an online non-thesis option for the MS in Environmental Management. Students complete a total of ~30 credit hours and can select from specialty areas such as climate change, watershed management, environmental health, fate and transport of environmental toxicants, soil health, and nutrient and ecosystem management. This program is flexible in terms of research and course work so that students can achieve their career-inspired and individual objectives. The online-only program seeks to provide advanced training in technical and managerial skills in working with a variety of public, private and non-profit entities in the areas of environmental protection, sustainable practices and compliance in the workplace, and is ideal for potential students who are already in the workforce to obtain advanced training while on the job.
The MS Environmental Science degree offers two program options, an on-campus thesis program and an online-only non-thesis option. Each option requires students to complete a total of ~30 credit hours and choose between multiple program focuses, including specialty areas such as climate change, watershed management, environmental health, fate and transport of environmental toxicants, soil health, and nutrient and ecosystem management. This program is flexible in terms of research and course work so that students can achieve their career-inspired and individual objectives. The online program option is designed for working professionals and others who wish to complete an advanced program to meet new career goals, and the project can be completed in cooperation with employers.
Expand your knowledge with a thesis or non-thesis (project) program with an MS in Plant and Soil Sciences, where you can select from specialty areas such as biotechnology, breeding, genetics, organic farming and more. This program is flexible in terms of research and course work so that students can achieve their career-inspired and individual objectives. Students are required to complete a total of ~30 credit hours for degree completion that will enable them to pursue further studies or advance in their careers.
This program enables students to address local and global challenges using new approaches to graduate education and research in the life sciences. The Integrative Biosciences (IBS) Ph.D. program is designed to develop professionals who have not only technical proficiency but who also possess the flexibility and adaptability to address the complexities of current challenges. A combination of agriculture and business, this program prepares students for a career in any business related to the industry, such as agricultural production, processing, distribution, or marketing. You can specialize in agricultural economics, agricultural education, business management, and more, enabling you to directly enter the workforce.
The Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics offers a Thesis and Non-Thesis option for students to develop strengths in applied economics and the analysis of challenges and opportunities in agriculture and food, community, and other resource systems. You have the flexibility to choose between specialties in rural economic and community development, agribusiness management and marketing, or natural resources economics so that you can move towards your chosen career path or continue into a Ph.D. program.
The Doctor of Philosophy degree program in Integrative Public Policy and Development (IPPD) is an interdisciplinary program within the College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences (CAENS) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). The program explores domestic and international development policy, public policy, the analysis of current and past policies and the development of future policies, and the development of key data, analysis, and services to local, state, national and global communities. Students can choose from three areas of specialization:
(1) Agriculture and Resources
(2) International Development Policy
(3) History and Public Policy
This program explores how chemistry, biology, and other sciences are used to study the nutritional content of food, how it can be improved, and how it is developed and distributed. The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences offers B.S. degrees in Food Science, Nutritional Science, a Didactic Program in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, and dual degrees in Food Science & Biology or in Nutritional Science & Biology to prepare you for a future in the food science industry.
This two-year degree program in the Master of Science in Food and Nutritional Sciences provides students with two major options: Food Science or Nutritional Science, each with a thesis or non-thesis (project) option. This graduate program provides the opportunity for greater breadth and depth in a selected area of specialization to prepare you to work in myriad of industries related to food and nutrition.
For students interested in the biology and practical methods of managing, caring for, and improving the lives of animals, the Animal and Veterinary Sciences program prepares you for your future career. With multiple options that will give you hands-on experience to work with livestock, poultry, companion animals, and more, you can directly enter the field or pursue continuing education.
The Animal Sciences graduate degree provides focus options in specialty areas including nutrition, parasitology, silvopasture, breeding and genetics, or reproduction and biotechnology, which are selected in consultation with an advisory committee. During the program, you will perform hands-on research with cattle, poultry, goats and a variety of other domestic and laboratory animals. This program is flexible in terms of research and course work so that you can achieve your career-inspired and individual objectives with a total of ~30 credit hours that include a research (thesis option) or professional project (non-thesis option) to enable you to enter into an exciting career.
